Legal notice & disclaimers
Last updated 29 September 2026
1. Who runs this site
pixel8.ro is a private portfolio operated by Pixel8 S.R.L., referred to in this notice as “PIXEL8”. To get in touch, use the contact form.
2. Demonstration software
Everything on this site is a demonstration: PixelBox, PixelMaps, PixelTracker and any other project shown. The demos show how the software looks and behaves. They are not a live service, and they are not offered for production use, for storing real information, or for any purpose where failure or data loss would matter.
Features that need a server in a full deployment (sign-in, email, sharing between devices, administration) are simulated in your browser. They may behave differently from a production system.
3. Sample data only
Do not enter real personal data, real passwords or other real secrets into any demo.
All names, email addresses, sites, locations, cases, figures and records shown in the demos are generated sample data. Any resemblance to real people, organisations or events is coincidental. No demo is connected to, or contains data copied from, any real system or database.
4. No affiliation
The projects shown are presented as pixel8 work samples. They are not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any employer, client or other organisation, and nothing here speaks for any of them. Names of third-party products or services mentioned belong to their respective owners.
5. No warranty
The site and demos are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability and non-infringement. Demos may change, break, reset or be removed at any time without notice.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PIXEL8 is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, this site or its demos. This includes loss of data, loss of secrets or passphrases, and any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this notice limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Security
The demos use real, standard browser cryptography, for example AES-256-GCM encryption in PixelBox. That doesn't make them secure storage. They haven't been independently audited, they run on shared web hosting, and anything kept only in your browser can be lost when browser data is cleared. Nothing here protects a device that is already compromised.
- PixelBox vault: stored only in your browser, encrypted with your passphrase. It is never uploaded. If you clear your browser data, or forget your passphrase, it is gone. Use “Export” to keep a backup.
- Quick links and sealed notes: in this demo, quick links exist only in the browser that created them. Sealed notes are encrypted before they leave the page.
8. Privacy
This site uses no advertising, tracking pixels, social media plugins, or third-party scripts, fonts or embeds. It does count, anonymously, how often it is used (see Usage counts below).
- What the server receives: like any website, our hosting provider’s web server logs technical request data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and referrer. It uses this for security and operation, and keeps it only for the provider’s limited standard retention period.
- Usage counts: to see whether the site and its tools are used, our own server keeps daily totals: which page was viewed, whether on a phone or a computer, when a video is played or the Ko-fi link is clicked, how many contact messages arrive, and the country a visit comes from. The country is looked up from your IP address in memory, and the address is then discarded; the counter never stores or logs it. No cookies, identifiers or browser storage are used, so visits can’t be linked to each other or to you. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, nothing is counted. The totals stay on our server in the EU, are kept as long as they are useful, and aren’t shared. Countries come from the regional internet registries’ public data, not a third-party service.
- Login: the public pages need no account. A private area (/work) uses a simple password prompt (HTTP basic authentication), and your browser remembers the credentials for the session. No account profile is created.
- Contact form: when you send a message we receive your name, email address, subject and message, by email. We use them only to reply to you. We keep them as long as the conversation needs, then delete them, normally within 12 months. The spam check runs on our own server and uses no third-party service. To limit abuse, a keyed, one-way hash of your IP address is kept for about two hours. The address itself is never stored.
- What the demos store: anything you type into a demo is kept in your own browser's storage and is not sent to the server.
- Controller: PIXEL8, contactable through the contact form.
- Legal basis: under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): legitimate interest in operating and securing the website and in knowing, in aggregate, how it is used (Art. 6(1)(f)), and your consent for contact form messages (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Where data is processed: in the European Union. We do not transfer it outside the EU/EEA.
- Your rights: under the GDPR you can ask for access to your personal data, and for it to be corrected, deleted, restricted or given to you in a portable form. You can also object to processing, and withdraw consent. Use the contact form. You can also complain to the data protection authority of the EU/EEA country where you live or work, or where you think an infringement happened (in Romania, the ANSPDCP).
9. Cookies & browser storage
This site sets no cookies. Under the EU ePrivacy rules, storage in your browser is allowed without consent only where it is strictly necessary for something you ask for. That is the only way we use it. The demos use your browser’s local storage to remember light or dark mode, and to keep the demo’s sample data and your vault. None of it is used for tracking or read by anyone else. The usage counts don’t store or read anything on your device, which is why no consent banner is needed. The short notice about them remembers that you’ve closed it: for the visit if you choose “Got it” (session storage), or for good if you choose “Don’t show again” (local storage). To remove it, use “Reset demo” in PixelBox, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
10. Intellectual property
© 2026 PIXEL8 The site design, text, logos and demo software are protected by copyright. You may view the site and use the demos for evaluation. You may not copy, redistribute or republish them without permission.
11. Acceptable use
Don't use the demos to store or share unlawful content. Don't attempt to disrupt the site, circumvent its access controls, or probe it for vulnerabilities without permission. If you believe you've found a security issue, please report it through the contact form.
12. Changes & governing law
This notice may be updated at any time. The date at the top shows the latest version. It is governed by applicable European Union law, including the GDPR and EU consumer protection rules, and by the national law of the EU Member State where PIXEL8 is established. This is without prejudice to any mandatory protections of the law where you live. Nothing in this notice limits rights you have under EU or national law.
